GREG VANSELOW has more than 40 years' experience in the theatre as a performer, director, designer and technician. In 1989, he founded the GPA Acting Company where he produced, directed and designed dance and theatre by and for young artists for nearly a decade. From 2003-2011, Greg was the Technical Director, Resident Designer and Master Carpenter for Andover High School Theatre, where he designed productions of Singin' in the Rain, Seussical, The Crucible, Thoroughly Modern Millie, and Into the Woods, which was honored as an Outstanding Overall Production by the Hennepin Theatre Trust Spotlight Program, among many others during his nine seasons with the program. Greg has directed productions for Hamline University Theatre, including Noises Off and the national premiere of Written and Sealed, as well as for the Temple of Aaron, where he was the director and designer for three of the Temple's annual USY productions. Additional directing, choreography, design and stage management credits include work at Theatre in the Round, Lyric Arts Main Street Stage, Commonweal Theatre, Lakeshore Players, Youth Performance Company, Six Points Theater (formerly The Minnesota Jewish Theatre Company), C.R.O.S.S. Community Players, Applause Community Theatre, Minneapolis Community and Technical College and Mounds View Community Theatre.
As a visual identity and collateral designer, Greg has created visual identities, print collateral, graphics and resources for Theatre Unbound, Sample Night Live!, Hamline University Theatre, Special Olympics Minnesota, Minnesota Housing Project and the 2006 Homes for All! Convention, among other clients.
Greg has more than 25 years’ experience in nonprofit management and is currently the Chief Operating Officer for Special Olympics Minnesota, the Minnesota chapter of the worldwide organization working for the inclusion and advancement of people with intellectual disabilities through sports, health, and leadership programs. From 2010-2014, Greg was the Managing Director for Sample Night Live! where he worked with the company’s founder and Board to establish accounting, data, strategic planning, branding, marketing, front-of-house, and compliance systems.
Following more than 10 years of tap, ballet, jazz, and gymnastics training as a child, Greg continued to study many different forms of movement as an adult, including running, boxing, Pilates, weight training, and powerlifting. He is currently a class instructor at HardShell Fitness in south Minneapolis, teaching hard-style kettlebell in an inclusive, adaptive, fun community that helps people stay healthy and strong.
Greg holds a Bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts from Hamline University in addition to 12 years of dance training, 25 years of voice training, and a decade of formal fitness training.
