the Importance of Being Earnest

Andover High School Theatre, 2004

The Importance of Being Earnest

Act I

A platform helped narrow the focus of the 54 foot proscenium and allow the actors to better fill the settings with their large personalities. A painted muslin drop provided a hardwood floor in Act I (above) and was then removed to reveal stone for Acts II and III. The back walls for each of the three settings were on wagons, so students could complete scene changes quickly during 10-minute intermissions between acts.
